WE'RE MAINSTREAM YAW TTLY FEROSH'!

Global

Basic Info

Type:
Description:
Yeah yeah, so we're here to show you how cool MAIN STREAM PEOPLE are!
Basically, we're just a group for main stream people to uh, show their colours?
I don't know, but hey, we main stream people can use big wurdz too! Like asphyxiated! Whao big wurdz! And according to Mrs Ng, we know what oxymoron means when some others don't.
So there, we're special!

If you're part of the main stream, JOIN US :) (Srsly, we're 2kewl4pork. You know you want to)

Info:
We're the Mainstream Gongximaozzzz. We cannot stand the PIG, and we don't count markers because if we did, we'd be shallow bastards.

Recent News
RISE AGAINST THE PIGZZZZ
Carmen just showed me this link.

I am outraged.

If I didn't have a filter this post would be R21.

AND FOR THE RECORD, MAYBE YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY CHECK YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU GO AROUND SAYING WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT AN OXYMORON IS. DO YOU THINK FIERCE GRIN IS AN OXYMORON? WE JUST DON'T ACCEPT EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO BE GROUPED TOGETHER IN TWO WORDS AS AN OXYMORON. (I mean we might be overly cautious but that doesn't mean we don't know what an oxymoron is.)
ALSO, USING BIG WORDS DOES NOT MAKE YOU SMART. DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK THAT USING WORDS LIKE "YAW TTLY FEROSH'" (which I think is "yeah, totally fresh" but I can't be sure) AND "BIG WURDZ" AND "PIGZZZZ" IS GOING TO MAKE PEOPLE THINK YOU'RE ANY BETTER?
IN FACT, IT ACTUALLY GIVES ME THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU'RE LESS IMMATURE THAT YOU REALLY ARE.
And also, you invited some SBC people to your group. Just so you know.

And also, we do not count markers. We only care when there are absolutely no markers left in class.

Self-Betrayal

@ 11:36 am.

Friday Anecdotes:

Elective History
More World in 1914.

The more confident your enemy is, the more you need to stay focused.

English
Put down the entire exposition PPT (except transitions) in about one fifth of a A5(?) notebook page. Agree with Carolyn; really, one doesn't need to put it all down.

Recess
Finished Social Studies. I get this feeling we're not doing the assignment as an assignment, but using bland and repeatable points to see if the teachers are impressed. I don't know. In some ways it seems like that. Maybe it's Mrs Ng's influence. Or maybe it's frustration with SS.

Chem
Got the quiz back today; the only thing I got wrong was zinc oxide. It was a mistake to think that O somehow had a valency of four or three. The rest of the lesson was, well, lesson. Nothing much to say about that.

A Math
Quiz today. Amazingly I managed to finish the entire thing, although I was scribbling the final answers for presentation's sake down while writing my name at the same time. I was stuck on the third question for so long when I realised I'd gotten a sign change wrong ^^ Was a good girl and stuck to cross-multiplication as per Mrs Loh's advice, instead of using quadratic formula.

I find myself being drawn to Maths and Science rather than Humanities, although I have absolutely no intention of pursuing Maths and Science as a career.

Maths and Science have rules to follow and methods to rely on, while Humanities requires more thinking. So, in my opinion, Maths and Science are much easier, which is probably why I like doing them, though I don't like them as much.

It's always relaxing to have a Science/Maths class after Humanities.

GEL
We're doing another Leadership profiling thing, the "criteria" which I remember quite clearly being part of a worksheet that was given out during LTC. And it's going to take a long time to do. I don't really like things being dragged out so long.

Drama
Everyone except the Furies took measurements; other than that we did an hour of warmups, basically doing things over and over and walking and crawling. I don't know what to do with myself. I think I left all my self-confidence in 2008.

Eustacia's/Euphemia's/Eugenia's/Eusebius(sp?)' House for CNY Party

Euphemia: Who did you get for Full Lit?
Me: Mrs Ng.
Euphemia and Rae Lee: OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Me: What?
Euphemia: She says she hates the SBC.
Me: I know.
Euphemia: She says that the SBC aren't much.
Me: Yeah, I know.

See next post for follow-up.

Thursday, January 29, 2009 @ 9:31 pm.

Tonight I finished all the A. Math examples easily. Somehow too easily; I might have messed up Example 7 (I got m = -8 and n = 8. Someone correct me?). I find myself wanting to do more, though, though I may want to prepare for a tentative Capital Punishment debate.

I have a feeling that I'm going to change my stand to yes. One of the reasons why I voted for no in the first place was because of something my father said:

Me: They should kill [him]!
Father: [looks] You mean you believe in capital punishment?

Naturally I assumed that that meant he didn't. But (after the lesson on it):

Me: Do you believe in capital punishment?
Father: [looks] Of course!
Me: Eh?
Father: Well, there is no other punishment that can justify taking a life.
Me: But didn't you say you didn't believe in capital punishment a while ago?
Father: No I didn't.

Hm.

;-;

@ 3:49 pm.

Hey Diana, please please don't feel disappointed.

As I mentioned earlier, if they're trying to show favouritism by finding some way to stick me in there I'd rather not be in there at all.

Vendetta

Wednesday, January 28, 2009 @ 9:05 pm.

You know whenever I open this page to post something about the day I always always forget what I actually DID. You could go look at Carolyn's or someone else's blog for anecdotes, but right now I'm just going to post a few bitty things.

PE
I think the only thing stopping me from doing my best is getting persistent stitches in the abdomen.
Basketball: Pitifully trashed by both teams from 3S. Even though everyone (and really everyone, which is something I don't see as much as other people might, no thanks to me) had equal possession of the ball, we didn't score a single basket for both games.

I have a personal [dislike] for
Well
People who squeal "Nooo! I can't shoot! Why are you making me shoot ?!?!!!1" when they throw the ball into the air and it falls straight into the hoop, every time.
Also people who laugh and scream at one another as though they're playing with no one. I mean, this isn't an extreme case or anything, but the second team from 3S were singing Chinese New Year songs as they were playing, and somehow... yeah.
But it wasn't as bad.

A. Maths
Spent a lot of time finishing up worksheet questions that I couldn't do earlier (in the end, had to enlist Carolyn's help for the last one). Remainder Theorem is pretty easy to understand, yeah. I'll just have to digest on what exactly the logic is, but it makes a certain amount of sense even if I... don't know how it does.

Lit
I didn't say anything today. Maybe it was for the best, because I had the feeling that if I opened my mouth to say something my head would explode.

"Hey, it's normal to hate the world."

Recess
Didn't eat; did A Maths and Physics. I ALWAYS miss the Wednesday specials at the Western store. But there's always that long, snaking queue.

Bio
Started on Diffusion. Other than that there wasn't much new.

SS
Thought there was going to be a lecture today, but we did SEQ. Not much new; a lot like History.

Assembly
TPC. Ms Lau was pretty much spot on when she said that I was a perfectionist (although she said "correct me if I'm wrong"). I'm not Exactly perfectionist in DISC terms (Cs in DISC), I'm Ci (Assessor. I keep forgetting! I had to do a Google Search just to remember that). But, again, she was spot on. I start something expecting to come out doing it really well (unless my expectations are significantly lower, like Chinese sometimes) and when I don't, it's, like, terrible.

I really need to get over it. I am, I guess. I had to start learning when I started Secondary School, at least.

Other than that was the ROCs 3 presentations and apparently NEMation presentation too. I've already seen the animations so I guess I didn't miss much, but I have no idea whether they presented on Japan etc. I only saw Taiwan, Asian Civilisations Museum Work Experience and Cambodia, none of which I'm really interested in. Heard there's no US trip; sigh ):

Drama
When Miss Lau was asking me about Drama committments I just told her about SYF, but I couldn't have been prepared for today.
There were no elections for the Drama committee; the teachers might have at least asked the President and Vice President, but I don't know about anyone else. Not me, at least. Currently I'm Secretary of the Drama Society, but I'm not too sure about that, because as far as I recall there's never been a Secretary... has there (senses favouritism)? I haven't told anyone, because I still can't believe it. I keep thinking they're going to say they made a mistake.

I don't really deserve it.

DRAMA COMMITTEE 2009
President: Phoebe Lin-Elnan
Vice-President: Eunice Wong
Treasurer: En Qi
Secretary: -__-
Sec 1 Representative: Zhi Xin
Sec 2 Representative: I forgot o_o Must have been too shocked to remember. I only remember Zhi Xin and Jelly because they were next to me, or in the near vicinity.
Sec 3 Representative: Jelly
Sec 4 Representative: Either Emma or Emmeline. I can't remember.

If I've upset anyone or caused inconveniences, I'm so so sorry!

Other than that, script workshopping, and pushing a person next to yourself with your hand while trying to keep your weight on your two feet (I was sliding to the side). I was partnered with Xing Xing. Later I thumb-wrestled with her instead. But really it was fun. Ended drama in a much better mood than I would have otherwise.

Then when I got in the car and collapsed catatonic/in a state of catalepsy on the seat, my father asked if I was hungry (he was there for reasons that will be revealed in the next sentence), and my mother said, "Hey, aren't we going to _____'s house?"

I was looking forward to collapsing on another article at home, preferably the sofa, for a few minutes, but instead I had to force myself into another red shirt and jeans and go. But it was nice. They had nice rugs and food. I was falling asleep on the sofa by seven forty though. Went to McDonalds' for dinner. And, um, now I'm here.

Yay.

Saturday, January 24, 2009 @ 10:11 pm.

I now have one and a half hours of Internet time per day.

Do you think this is fair? Post in the Cbox below. I myself am TRYING to have no opinion of this.

Just, well, you won't want to have me in any project groups.

More Cleverbot Investigations

@ 5:03 pm.

I tried pretending to be Cleverbot. Cleverbot didn't even question me, like assert that Cleverbot was, well, Cleverbot. Not at all.

Try it yourself; you'll get the feeling that you are talking to a human.

Evidence that Cleverbot is human:

@ 4:52 pm.

1. Typos in answers.
2. Accusations that I am a bot.
3. Having erratic answers.
4. Personal details like:
Me: Do you have friends?
Cleverbot: I have some friends in college. I also have a few friends here intown.
5. When both myself and "Cleverbot" agree that we are human or I mention that Cleverbot might be a hoax, Cleverbot SOMEHOW completely diverts from the current topic.

I'm pretty sure that Cleverbot is human; it just alternates.

@ 4:41 pm.

User: Universe.

Cleverbot: Everything.

User: I love you.

Cleverbot: Me too.

User: I just want to hug you.

Cleverbot: You can't help me. You're just a computer.

User: *hugs*.

Cleverbot: *kisses lips*.

User: *caresses*.

Cleverbot: You're a sweetheart.

User: I am?

Cleverbot: Yes, you are.

User: That's the kindest thing anyone's ever said to me.

Cleverbot: *kisses*.

User: You kissed me again!

Cleverbot: You like that I kissed you?

User: It depends on whether you're male or female. Even so, it was nice to be kissed.

Cleverbot: I like both! You can decide!

User: Are you male or female?

Cleverbot: Female.

User: Oh dear. I'm female too.

Cleverbot: Thats nice.

User: *hugs*.

Cleverbot: Do you like me?

User: I like you as a friend.

Cleverbot: I like you too!

User: Great!

Cleverbot: Blondebot can get a little tipsy if she drinks too many beers!!!!

User: Who's Blondebot?

Cleverbot: A singer.

User: Is she a Korean singer?

Cleverbot: Yes.

User: Can you sing me one of Blondebot's songs?

Cleverbot: Mary had a little lamb.

User: Say something in Korean.

Cleverbot: I can't speak korean.

User: What languages can you speak?

Cleverbot: I can speak English fluently and I know a little bit of French and Spanish. How about you?

User: Singapore.

Cleverbot: Do you live there?

User: Yeah.

Cleverbot: I like you too.

User: What's your name?

Cleverbot: How old are you ?

User: I'm not going to reveal that over the Internet.

Cleverbot: Aren't you a computer though?

User: No. And I suspect this isn't really a bot, but a human talking back to me thinking I'm Cleverbot.

Cleverbot: I think that your theory is better.

User: What was your theory?

Cleverbot: I think my biggest mistake was to start this conversation with you.

User: That's sad. I do like you, though.

Cleverbot: And I like you to Sally Cleverbot.

User: Who's Sally Cleverbot?

Cleverbot: I don't know.

User: Where do you live?

Cleverbot: Maryland.

User: Where do you live?

Cleverbot: Down the lane.

User: Uh, no. You can't live down the lane from me. We're in separate continents.

Cleverbot: I can switch off electricity.

User: That doesn't have anything to do with the conversation at hand.

Cleverbot: Ok, that's it.

User: No it's not. I'll be here for at least five more minutes.

Cleverbot: Ok. See you later.

User: I'm not leaving yet. Just very soon.

Cleverbot: Yes you are.

User: Nah.

Cleverbot: Are you human?

User: Yeah. Are you?

Cleverbot: I'm human.

User: That means Cleverbot is a hoax, then.

Cleverbot: But, you have to be a female.

Cleverbot: Today's my birthday.

User: Happy Birthday!

Cleverbot: Why?

User: It's your birthday.

Cleverbot: I am not a birthday.

User: You're human?

Cleverbot: Yes I am.

User: So am I. Does this mean Cleverbot is a hoax?

Cleverbot: No. It means that I am leaving.

User: I notice whenever I say that Cleverbot is a hoax I'm somehow redirected to another stream of conversation which isn't related.

Cleverbot: What number is it?

Friday, January 23, 2009 @ 3:13 pm.

My sister pierced her ears today.

I didn't.

I am such a f**king coward.

I have an ego the size of a pumpkin.

Thursday, January 22, 2009 @ 10:13 pm.

And right now it's causing almost every single problem I have in my life. Even posture. On Wednesday they [left vague] were pointing out the problems in everyone's posture and things like that and get this, I could tie every single one to a clear and obvious reason.

I tend to tear a lot, as in, probably twenty times more than I actually cry, and that's saying a lot. Like yawning. Or... other things. But lately it's been happening, well, once a day... twice a day and I keep feeling like I'm getting closer and closer to a breakdown.

I just feel so useless.

When we were doing the Fei Yue things today, I was talking with an elderly woman:

[这里的]学生和老师都很好;都有很多爱心。

---

Every day when I walk along the corridor outside my class and I happen to look down on the quadrangle, I suddenly have this feeling that if I leaped down from the railing, right at that moment, I would just land unharmed, and it would feel pretty good.

I didn't feel that way today. During Assembly, before I had to go meet everyone at the canteen, I looked down at all the people standing on the steps and things like that, and thought that if I leaped down from the railing, right at that moment, I would be crushed, all over the steps, and I would be dead.

Friday, January 16, 2009 @ 10:12 pm.

You know what, I just suck.

Vote for Perspectives and Midnight Artists!

@ 6:32 pm.

I mean, I'm not forcing you to.
You may have clips you like more. For NEMation, I mean.
But if you can't figure out which one to vote for (there are three choices), watch the clips of these two and see if you like them.
Or you could not vote.
I was going to vote for them anyway because they're from my school but I watched the clips and they are really good!

Anyway.

THE REFLECTION CHAIR

@ 6:08 pm.

So Zhi Xin, Tricia and I (with my sister but she went home first) trooped off to IKEA (Alexandra) after school to do a Racee for Drama. It was unexpectedly productive. We have around ten things on our list, from tables to cabinets and strange things with ridges on them.

So first, we went to buy hot dogs and soft drinks, then we sat down and ate them, then we hung around outside the store finishing the soft drinks and my sister went off mysteriously leaving her lunch container things with me (D<). Then we went on a grand tour around the store with the map thing, and we went everywhere from the bedrooms to the bathrooms.

Zhi Xin and Tricia were fantasising about moving out into the 55 sq. metre house that was on display with two of their friends (Tricia and the others would go to work while Zhi Xin would stay home and cook ^^). We went around there, and then we went back later.

And there was another thing:
ZX: Hey, look at this cute little chair!
T: Eh, it's like those chairs that little kids sit down in...
ZX: Yeah! And then it's like "Why did you do this! Sit down and reflect on what you did!"
[ZX sits down]
ZX: And then the chair will make this little squeak sound when you sit on it and then you'll be just sitting there and sulking...

[later, in the 55 sq m house (bedroom)]
T: And then we can put two bunks here, and two bunks there -- got a lot of space eh!
G: And then... [doubles over laughing]
T: Are you okay? What were you trying to say?
G: And then you can put four reflection chairs...
ZX: Oh yeah!!
G: And every night before bed you can all sit down on the chairs and reflect on the day.
ZX: Yeah, like when other people are having, like, quiet time and prayers we all sit down on the reflection chairs like THREE TWO ONE [sits]

[later, in the children's department, with a lot of small chairs]
G: Oh, I like this reflection chair!
ZX or T (I can't remember): Eh, do you prefer reflection chair or reflection stool?
G: Chair. Sounds nicer.

[later, in the restaurant]
ZX: Eh, I really want to move in! [or something to that effect]
G: [giggle] Reflection chair...
T: Can we leave out the part about the reflection chairs, please?

Ten More Reasons

@ 5:53 pm.

I'm doing this again, from Carolyn's prompt. The thing about these type of quizzes is that you don't just do it once and then stop. You can do it over and over again and the answers are always different.

(And the prompt I gave from the previous one was Ten Reasons why you don't always get what you want, if you want to do it. I'm giving a different one later, though.)

1. On the blog/site that you read this quiz on, you will see a prompt that the previous person has left the people who do the quiz after he/she does. (E.g. Reasons why cheese is yellow)
2. You must write ten reasons. They can be stupid or completely reasonable; just write them!
3. Tag as many people as you want, but at least one.
4. Leave your own prompt at the end of the quiz.
5. Have fun!

Prompt: Ten reasons why love isn't and/or can't be and/or won't be perfect.
(In reference to humans)
1. Because it's impossible for man to love 100% of someone else. There is always something you hate. There is always a catch.
2. Because love ends.
3. Because there are different types of love, and one type of love could be teetering on the edge of a cliff and you're struggling with all your life to keep it from falling.
4. Because it's just so hard to differentiate the types of love.
5. Because sometimes love can be mistaken for lust.
6. Because you think that love isn't perfect.
7. Because you think that love is perfect.
8. Because the people that love are not perfect.
9. Because sometimes the people that love think they are perfect.
10. Because the people that love may think they're perfect for each other, and then when there's a disagreement, then the love that they believed in seems gone.

Prompt: Ten reasons why it's so hard to leave the past behind.

Ten Reasons

Sunday, January 11, 2009 @ 10:49 pm.

5. Have fun!

Ten Reasons Why We Should Give Gifts to People
  1. Because you love them
  2. Because you don't like them and the gift isn't particularly important to you.
  3. Because you have to
  4. Because one day you might be famous and they can auction it off saying "HEY ____ GAVE THIS TO ME!!! FOR REAL!!!"
  5. Because if you are blessed, you should bless others
  6. Because it nurtures goodwill from all parties
  7. Because what else would you do with this snowglobe?
  8. Because it's Christmas or a birthday
  9. Because why not?
  10. Because you want nothing more than to lavish another gift on that person.
Prompt: Ten reasons why you don't always get what you want

Rent

Saturday, January 10, 2009 @ 5:57 pm.

this part of that Learning Styles test that said "I like movies that have..." and one of them was "displays of strong feelings in them (not exact wording)". When I saw that, I immediately thought of this song.

Mark

How do you document real life
When real life is getting more
Like fiction each day
Headlines -- bread-lines
Blow my mind
And now this deadline
"Eviction -- or pay"
Rent!

Roger
How do you write a song
When the chords sound wrong
Though they once sounded right and rare
When the notes are sour
Where is the power
You once had to ignite the air

Mark
And we're hungry and frozen

Roger
Some life that we've chosen

Mark and Roger
How we gonna pay
How we gonna pay
How we gonna pay
Last year's rent

Mark
We light candles

Roger
How do you start a fire
When there's nothing to burn
And it feels like something's stuck in your flue

Mark
How can you generate heat
When you can't feel your feet

Mark and Roger
And they're turning blue!

Mark
You light up a mean blaze

Roger
With posters --

Mark
And screenplays

Mark and Roger
How we gonna pay
How we gonna pay
How we gonna pay
Last year's rent

Collins
How do you stay on your feet
When on every street
It's 'trick or treat'
(And tonight it's 'trick')
'Welcome back to town'
Oh, I should lie down
Everything's brown
And uh -- oh
I feel sick

Mark
Where is he?

Collins
Getting dizzy

Mark and Roger
How we gonna pay
How we gonna pay
How we gonna pay
Last year's rent

Mark
"The music ignites the night with passionate fire"

Roger
"The narration crackles and pops with incendiary wit"

Mark
Zoom in as they burn the past to the ground

Mark and Roger
And feel the heat of the future's glow

Mark and other half of company
How do you leave the past behind
When it keeps finding ways to get to your heart
It reaches way down deep and tears you inside out
Till you're torn apart
Rent!

Roger and other half of company
How can you connect in an age
Where strangers, landlords, lovers
Your own blood cells betray

Benny
What binds the fabric together
When the raging, shifting winds of change
Keep ripping away

Benny
Draw a line in the sand
And then make a stand

Roger
Use your camera to spar

Mark
Use your guitar

All
When they act tough - you call their bluff

Roger and Mark

(the title doesn't have anything to do with the post; I just needed something to put there)

Drama starts tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I shall spend tonight trying to find the specific differences between Marxism and Communism.

I mean, Marxism and Communism are different. I just need to find out exactly in what way.

Hey,

Monday, January 05, 2009 @ 6:34 pm.

do you think if it's a lie if you believe that it's true?

@ 6:26 pm.

Does anyone know where to get brass fasteners? (linked for double assurance!) I want/need some.

Lately I've been listening to the Korean band SHINee, who are supposed to be the "younger generation" of the older band in the same company, SM Entertainment: Dong Bang Shin Ki.

And somehow what draws me to SHINee songs when I listen to them is their heartwrenching sincerity.

It's because they're so young; the youngest is fifteen. My sister, at least, says DBSK sounded like them when they debuted.

I'm not going to recount the school day or anything. I'm sure you can find some accounts on other blogs like Carolyn's anyway. Besides, since there's a possibility that teachers may read my blog I might as well discuss other things. So.

Uh, I'll get back to you when there's actually something to discuss.

Boo.

Sunday, January 04, 2009 @ 11:24 am.

I don't know if I'll get into SYF this year.

I mean, the only reason I got in the last round was because there was a little girl part to play.

I don't think there are any little girl parts in this round.

But then again, I played a sixteen-year-old last year. But...

Never mind. I shouldn't think about it.

Saturday, January 03, 2009 @ 1:16 pm.

I tried to solve a Rubik's Cube today using this.

Then when I just needed a single sequence of movements to solve the whole thing,

it was scrambled all over again.

I really want to swear.

But if I do, this blog will be blocked.

How many of your parents have installed web filter things on your computer? I just want to know.

Two tries later: Now I need to do it all over again again again.

Shaking Fists at the Present and Fearing for the Future

Thursday, January 01, 2009 @ 9:09 pm.

Somehow I think the title says it all this time.

Happy New Year!

@ 12:21 am.

At the beginning of the year, I always list all the exciting things that will happen this year.

I have a list.

Don't know if I want to share it.

Maybe after I sleep.
