You know when's the proposed day for us to put on tHP?

NATIONAL DAY.

Well, National Day celebrations.

Can you imagine? Everyone sitting there nice and morose in the ME Lau Hall and then the curtains open, and I can bet no one's going to listen.

My main concern with the ME Lau Hall (and yes, it WILL be the ME Lau Hall, whether anyone likes it or not, because it's National Day celebrations, for crying out loud) is that no drama production can do anything there because the acoustics are so bad. The last time CLDDS put up a play there I couldn't hear much. I'm impressed I could hear anything at all.

CLDDS is good. They should have been in PAN. Not that PAN is going to happen anyway.

Proposed solution, and currently ONLY solution:

Have our own Drama Night.

Put a few mini-plays together, and start a Drama Night.

We CAN do it, you know. We can. We have enough people in crew anyway. It can be minimalistic. We don't need props if we can't get any. Or royalty; we could workshop it.

[sigh] Depends on when it is, though. Workshopping is hard in two weeks, like we did with tHP, which is already a miracle.

But still.

Please, let's have our own Drama Night.

Outrage

Monday, June 29, 2009 @ 10:02 pm.

Am I the only one who's saddened by the cancellation of Performing Arts Night?

Or at least, this sad?

Or angry?

Or outraged?

Well, I haven't asked many people, so I'll never know.

Drama is probably the CCA that's the most affected by it, because we're the only ones that had to build up an entirely new performance from the ground up in two weeks before the show.

If they cancel the show, the other groups can let it go easier, because all they're doing is performing their SYF performances again. And a lot of them are performing at the SYF showcases anyway.

But we can't.

Plus, it's our juniors' only production this year. Isn't it a bit sad, that they don't get to perform it?

And no, there won't be a drama night, because this thing is only fifteen minutes long. Unless we get to prepare more plays. That would be fun.

Performing it during one of the Assemblies is also kind of a let down D: because their parents don't get to see it and so on...

I wonder they haven't told us yet, and I only found out about it through the other Performing Arts today who were having CCA, and of course had to be told.

Dammit, I want to break something.

These final hours

Sunday, June 28, 2009 @ 9:47 pm.

Spending these last one hour and fifteen minutes doing Physics backlog, not wanting to pack my bag, and being happy with the fact that I have successfully compiled all my holiday homework (minus files) into one neat stack and have listed everything down, again.

You know, if we switch seats this year, I'm going to miss who I'm sitting with... all five of them.

There was this time they made me smile till my cheeks hurt ^^. I think it was the SS assignment.

But yet, I'm sorta looking forward to what's coming.

I'd look forward to it, if I was ready.

I don't know if I am.

--

You know, I like being efficient. I like sitting down at a clear table with maybe a laptop if I need it and start doing business. Not just schoolwork, maybe something for drama or an LTC project or something personal.

I like doing work, because I like to be efficient. I don't like doing work, because I don't like NOT being efficient. Which is kinda why I don't want to pack my bag.

Maybe it has to do with the interface of this computer. It's cramped, with so many Firefox tabs open and so many things in the taskbar. Or maybe that's just me.

This "efficiency" thing probably has to do with movies that I watch. I'm really easy to influence.

Is anyone else having problems with the LMS Timetable that's supposed to show the school timetable? For mine, no lessons are being displayed except those of Lit, Chinese and Elect. History.

EDIT: I admit, I left out two things from my "completed" homework list: A Maths File and Chem SPA file.

I'm just kinda ignoring them, since each probably won't take too long, because Chem SPA has rather little to file, and I only have the content page to do for A Maths File.

D:

I hate the day just before school starts.

I guess it's a blessing that I've found June to be the longest month ever this year. At least it's a "holiday" month, meaning just a month without full days of classes.

RMUN seems so long ago.

OBS seems an eternity ago.

Of course school is just as familiar, since I've been going there nearly every weekday for the past two weeks.

Mitigation

@ 3:17 pm.

I read in the newspapers today that Singapore is in the transition stages from "containment" to "mitigation". Meaning that soon the H1N1 virus will not be able to be maintained, and soon they will move on to the mitigation phase rather than containment.

So in extreme terms, as soon as the spread reaches a certain level, they're going to lift all the precautions and procedures set in place (e.g. thermal scanners at airports, temperature screening -- citing Los Angeles as an example) because, frankly, they wouldn't help the situation. Instead, they would try and mitigate (relieve, alleviate) it.

D:

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to live in Los Angeles at this moment; knowing that US has one of the largest numbers of H1n1 cases in the world, and yet nothing's being done in the airports, like health screening. Just that if (or WHEN) you get it, you go to the hospital/clinic, and hope you come out fine.

I don't want that to happen to Singapore.

EDIT: Hey everyone, Oral Prep is due today!

Hi.

Tuesday, June 23, 2009 @ 8:16 pm.

Have you kissed somebody over 19 years of age?
Does family count?

What would you do if your best friend went out with your ex?
I don't have an ex.

Green or gold?
Gold.

What’s your sport?
Drama. Theatre IS a sport.

Do you know how to keep a conversation going?
Not really. Depends on what the conversation is.

Do you like the rain?
Yeah.

What hat would you rock?
I don't rock hats.

Were you ever with someone who was completely different than you?
I don't think people can ever be completely different from each other. They're similar, of course, in the way that they're both human, or living, or whatever.

Have you ever had a crush on someone that was in a relationship?
Never had a crush.

When was the last time you were told you were beautiful?
I don't know.

What is bothering you right now?
Homework and Chinese oral.

I’ll bet you miss someone right now.
Don't we all?

Are you easily scared by horror/thriller films?
I guess. Not much exposure though.

If you were given $100, would you spend it, or save it?
I'd save it, but eventually I'd have to spend it on things such as camp fees or lesson fees, all to do with school.

If there was a large spider in the room, would you stay?
I wouldn't, because my room is also my sister's room, and she wouldn't stay. My laptop is also in this room, and the idea of a tarantula crawling on my laptop is a little unnerving.

Do you have any enemies?
I don't know. Probably.

Ever kissed a blonde haired, blue eyed person?
No.

When was the last time you were truly happy with your life?
Sometimes happiness is complacency.

When is the last time you made someone else cry?
Maybe about a few months ago.

Would you be able to date someone who had a kid with someone else?
Firstly, I probably will try not to date, at all. And I probably wouldn't know that that person had a kid with someone else, since this is something that someone would probably try to keep under wraps. And when I found out, I'd probably be pissed that that someone kept that secret, so it would probably go downhill from there.

Last person you had a deep and meaningful conversation with?
Probably someone from drama; I think it was a group conversation.

Does your ex miss you?
I don't have an ex.

Reason behind why you last cried?
BECAUSE I WAS SAD, OKAY?

Do you have a deep dark secret?
Yes.

What was the last thing you ever got grounded for?
I don't really get grounded, except for the Internet, and that usually correlates with when my sister gets grounded.

What was your childhood nickname?
Gracie.

Are your parents married/separated/divorced?
Married.

What did you fear was going to get you at night as a child?
I feared that I would find a monster in my sister's bed when I entered the room at night. Yes, in my sister's bed, because her bed was easier to see.

Who would you want to be tied to for 24 hours?
Tied to...? No! I'd get rope burns!

Who do you blame for your mood today?
I don't really have a mood today.

Have you ever seen a dead body?
I'm only going to reveal things like dead insects etc.

Last person you went out to dinner with?
Out? Probably family.

How do you vent your anger?
I can be very violent.

Are most of your friends virgins?
I guess so?

Are you a mama’s child or a daddy’s child?
Daddy. Uh, Mama. Uh, neither.

Is anything alive in your room?
Uh, myself, probably a few insects, my sister (who is currently in the shower so she's not here). So, yes.

-

Can you name 31 people you can think of right off the top of your head? Don't read the questions underneath until you write the names of all 31 people.

3. Jelly
4. En Qi

• Is 31 your best friend? Carmen
No; I make it a point not to have a "best friend".

Touch and Go

@ 7:55 pm.

If you asked me what I would do with the last 24 hours of my life,
Well, firstly I wouldn't know that it was the last.

Because likely I'd be torn apart, by the fact that I'm leaving and never coming back no matter what, and... that I'm going somewhere with no way to return, and I want that.

I want to spend my last day happy. I don't want to spend it crying, because knowing me, that's what I would do.

I wouldn't get anything done. How would one spend his/her last day? Should I be doing good to everyone, or pleasing myself, or both? Would going to an Italian restaurant or Japanese restaurant be better for my last meal on earth? Should I sleep, or not even bother sleeping? Should I have pancakes or waffles as a last breakfast? Should I lose my virginity before I go, or keep it? (one of the stranger questions, but given the situation I'd probably think that) Should I finish all my overdue homework and submit it, or just forget about it? Should I clear my table, so that those left behind won't have to do it for me? Should I post a farewell on this blog or leave quietly? Should I write a note? Should I tell the rest of my family? (Yes.) Should I be happy, or sad?

Have I said I love you to everyone yet? Have I forgotten anyone?

Carolyn mentioned once that there are some people that can be read easily, and some people that can't.

Obviously I'm one of the former. I'm pretty simple-minded.

@ 6:23 pm.

1. ORAL PREP! ORAL PREP! ORAL PREP!!! [Must do before tuition lesson on Thursday]
2. Content Pages for A Math File. Plus, check that all worksheets are there D: [not as urgent]
3. Physics backlog i.e. all the questions I didn't know how to do earlier.

I don't take regular tuition lessons, but I need them now.

Plus, Performing Arts Night has been shifted to 12th July, Sunday.

Which is the day before my Oral.

Importance

@ 10:56 am.

3G Oral Schedule (HCL):

In order of register number, those from Bernice to Jerusha will be having their oral on the 13th of July, Jerusha being the last person on that day.

Those from Yun Hua to Wendy will be having their oral on the 14th of July, Yun Hua being the first person on that day.

I don't know whether this is a good thing or not. We're all going to have different topics, but we'll never know what happens whether we get one or the other.

All the best.

Oh, 3T people who check my blog, you're on the last day.

Voyeur

Saturday, June 20, 2009 @ 11:16 am.

My father just called me a voyeur.

  1. A person who derives s*xual gratification from observing the n*ked bodies or s*xual acts of others, especially from a secret vantage point.
  2. An obsessive observer of s*rdid or sensational subjects.

This was the only definition that wasn't blocked by my filter. It blocks my blog, though, when I post the uncensored version.

I am offended.

He insists that he doesn't mean it that way.

Strawberry Cream Cake

Monday, June 15, 2009 @ 8:24 pm.

I went to school to do the A Maths AA, and I was still there at around 5 after coming back from KAP. I met one of the vice principals there [name not disclosed because I don't know about privacy rights on the internet]. She asked me what I was still doing here (and I tried to remember how she came to know my name in the first place; I guess it's a lot of stuff), and I told her about the project meeting.

VP: Oh, I thought you're on holiday!
Me: Not really.

Laughed a little.

My mother said that it was good on me that I told her that.

I don't know.

I don't know whether to laugh, cry or puke up something.

Saturday, June 13, 2009 @ 11:32 am.

Right now, somehow, I can't decide what homework to do when I only have an hour left at home till I go out. So I'm going to tear apart the recent AI coronation song because I am, amazingly, bored.

Looking at the length of the following passage, I think I can already feel a sense of foreboding. I remember reading about an interview (yes, ABOUT an interview) and one of them (Adam, I think) wisely said "There's a lot of lyric."

And I think I said before in another post that I don't like songs that are so disjointed in their lyrics. I still don't. This song has a lot of that, somehow. Sticking together lots of cliches. Maybe I'll count them.

[cut post; there are approximately 16]

That was just a little bit longer than three minutes and thirty seconds. You have to credit the people that wrote this. It's hard to squeeze so many words into that time.
You have to credit the singers even more; it's probably even more difficult to sing this. Which is why I listened to both versions.

Homework

@ 11:14 am.

The Middle

Monday, June 08, 2009 @ 3:41 pm.

Hey
Don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out
Or looked down on
Just try your best
Try everything you can
And don't you worry what they tell themselves
When you're away

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be alright, alright

Hey
You know they're all the same
You know you're doing better on your own
So don't buy in.
Live right now
Yeah, just be yourself
It doesn't matter if it's good enough
For someone else

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be alright, alright

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be alright, alright

Hey
don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out
Or looked down on
Just do your best
Do everything you can
And don't you worry what their bitter hearts
Are gonna say

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be alright, alright

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be alright, alright

Federer vs Soderling today.

This delegate strongly believes that Federer has a higher possibility of winning. However, she admits that her opinion is heavily biased towards the party in question.

Fiyero: We're going to be together always.

As Long as You're Mine

Saturday, June 06, 2009 @ 6:56 pm.

Kiss me too fiercely
Hold me too tight
I need help believing
You're with me tonight
My wildest dreamings
Could not foresee
Lying beside you
With you wanting me

And just for this moment
As long as you're mine
I've lost all resistance
And crossed some borderline
And if it turns out
It's over too fast
I'll make every last moment last
As long as you're mine

Maybe I'm brainless
Maybe I'm wise
But you've got me seeing
Through different eyes
Somehow I've fallen
Under your spell
And somehow I'm feeling
It's "up" that I fell

Every moment
As long as you're mine
I'll wake up my body
And make up for lost time

Say there's no future
For us as a pair
And though I may know
I don't care

Just for this moment
As long as you're mine
Come be how you want to
And see how bright we shine
Borrow the moonlight
Until it is through
And know I'll be here holding you
As long as you're mine

Fiyero: What is it?
Elphaba: It's just - for the first time, I feel - wicked!

Friday, June 05, 2009 @ 5:03 pm.

RMUN IS OVER.

Not really. There's a dinner and dance till ten. But I've got an hour and a half to waste. Eh.

Cry Over Spilt Blood

Thursday, June 04, 2009 @ 4:54 pm.

Well, uh, I'm here again.

It's four fifty nine.

But I can't go home, because I've got the Fashion Parade rehearsals after this.

Oh, it's five.

I woke up today and saw my sister still sleeping and I wanted to go back too.

But still I'm here. Remind me to bring A Maths homework or something. I shall do A Maths tonight.

Hell-Bent

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 @ 4:14 pm.

I'm sitting in Com Lab 5 at RJC, having finally finished my two and a half page article about the issue of egregious human rights violations in the Occupied Territories captured by the State of Israel following the 1967 Six Day War as discussed by the mock Human Rights Council. Everyone around me is either still writing their articles, sleeping, surfing the Internet, and oh yeah, writing their articles. Actually I think only about two people are. Ah well.

I want to sleep, I want to sleep. Better yet, I want to go home. But I've got the feeling I'll get an email with lots of edits soon, so I had better stay awake.

I need something to do! Everyone seems to have something to look up. I can't think of anything. I'm not even going to think about the article until I need to edit it, because it might just be really painful.

This is why I don't have a Twitter. I'm not even doing anything and I've definitely written more than 140 characters.
